The Meadows play area project
The Meadows play area is situated off Cuckoofield Lane, opposite Catmere Herne and is accessed via Jubilee Gardens. The play equipment was first installed in 2012/13 and has been well used ever since. Some of the equipment is now breaking and has not been economical to repair.
This is a wonderfully rural setting, surrounded by trees and hedges that the council would like all ages and abilities to enjoy. We are consulting with our residents to ensure the equipment we deliver will be used by many for years to come.

Next steps
We have been in contact with the contractor, Four One Four, to let them know we would love to go ahead with their proposal. The estimated total cost of the project is around £85,000, with the council earmarking £40,000 towards the project.
Over the coming months we will be busy applying for grant funding and seeking donations. We will setup a Go Fund Me pageand encourage local businesses as well as residents to help us reach our target. Please contact us if you have any fundraising ideas.

The new play equipment
We took your feedback and created a specification for potential contractors. The council considered each proposal against your requirements and asked one company to come and speak to you. Four One Four had proposed a pump track, replacement swing set and new seesaw.
You told us that you thought the idea of a pump track was very exciting and we agreed!
